¡Feliz Aniversario Jessica & Michael!

These past few weeks I have been thinking about Jess & Michael's wedding as their first anniversary approached and I realized I hadn't seen the photos from their Photographer, Jason Huang of Table4Weddings.  I reached out just in time and got an immediate reply from Michael which turned into a back-and-forth with him & Jess reminiscing about their beautiful wedding.  It felt like talking to old friends, ones that I didn't realize I missed until we re-connected.  From the first meeting when they came to Sayulita to scout, these two won me over.  I didn't really want another wedding last fall with the lineup I had already booked, but I couldn't say no to them and I'm glad I didn't.   For a Doctor and an International Tax Law Attorney, they were one of the most fun and down-to-earth couples I've worked with.  Their group really knew how to party - though it would be hard not to have fun around them, particularly with Michael's infectious, slightly mischievous, always giddy-with-love-for-his-Bride vibe.

The week before the wedding the forecast showed a strong prediction of rain and we made the call to tent both the ceremony and reception, which turned out to be a wise move, as the rain did come.  Though it's never ideal to have to change the plan the week before your wedding, these two rolled with it and were super chill, trusting in the vision and knowing that the most important thing - their LOVE - would be the star of the day.  For me it was a new challenge to do a full tent setup and also fun to have the intimacy of a canopy over the reception when most every other wedding I plan is open air.

Seeing these photos for the first time just a few days ago after almost a year has been a real treat, remembering the special touches and moments of the day - Jess walking down the long stretch of beach while Michael's eyes welled with tears of love and joy; Jess surprising Michael with the tequila burro after the ceremony; the tequila tasting bar stocked by Michael's Uncle from Guadalajara with some seriously top shelf tequilas; the wild dance party with the Groom rocking my own band t-shirt by the end of the night; and most importantly, the sheer LOVE that is shared between these humans, that is visible in every photo of them.  Serious kudos to Jason of Table4Weddings - you are an amazing Photographer and it was a joy to see your work and relive the beautiful day.
