¡Feliz Aniversario Kerry + Steve!
Over the years, we have had the good fortune to work with some pretty cool folks. Sayulita has a way of drawing in just the right type of person that is attracted to its unique charms, and I like to think we attract the best and coolest clients out of this lot. Steve & Kerry are definitely testament to my (admittedly biased) belief. These cool kids are from Seattle, and were referred to us by our Sayulita friends Ian & Kerry (different Kerry), who they had met on previous travels to Sayulita. They were some of the first clients to sign on with us, way back when we had no wedding experience. From our first conference call, we just clicked, and to this day we consider them dear friends.
Kerry & Steve wanted a very non-traditional wedding, and really wanted to share their love of authentic Sayulita with their guests. They were the pioneers of the "street food" wedding reception idea, wanting to re-create a town square atmosphere at their reception. The ceremony and reception were at the beautiful Casa Kestos on the northern-most point of Sayulita's beach. We brought in Tacos Pastor from Ivan, Yolanda's Grilled Chickens, Tamales from Carmen, the Wheelbarrow Candy Cart, and of course Churros for dessert. These days the Churreros, Miguel & Gloria, are all the rage and book up 6 months in advance for weddings - but they got their start at our events thanks to the idea from Steve & Kerry. Steve, who was the PR Machine for SubPop Records at the time of the wedding, programmed a fabulous set of music for the evening, which is still in regular rotation on our ipod.
We love you Steve & Kerry! Happy 4-Year Anniversary!!
