¡Feliz Aniversario to Julie + Jon AND Amber + Matt!

Sending out a super-happy double anniversary wish to two lovely couples, both with Texas roots on the Bride's side. Amber & Matt are celebrating three years of marriage, while Julie & Jon celebrate their first anniversary today. Aside from sharing a wedding date, these parejas hermosas also shared a wedding photographer - the incomparable Evrim Icoz.

Amber & Matt had a beautiful beachside ceremony at Vila de Roja San Pancho, followed by a reception at the gorgeous and always-delectable Mar Plata Restaurant. In one of the funnier family traditions I've seen, Amber's family gifted the newlyweds this handmade pair of giant panties to share.

Guests had a blast dancing the night away under the tin-star sky of Mar Plata's beautiful ceiling to a Cuban band with adorable twin lead singers.

I just love these novios that we found for their entrance altar. Painted on the front it says "Voy en Chin...", anticipating good times ahead on the wedding night.

Julie & Jon tied the knot at Sayulita's premier luxury wedding villa, Villa del Oso. Julie and Jon had attended another of our Villa del Oso weddings in May 2008 for their friends Karine & Dave, also San Francisco kids. I remember when Julie first called me to talk about her wedding. I was booked for the date she wanted but we really clicked on the phone, and from Karine & Dave's experience, she knew she wanted to work with us on her wedding. She ended up moving her date up to make it work with our schedule and I'm so glad.

What a totally fun night it was - a perfectly beautiful sunny Sayulita day, gorgeous succulents mixed with lush orange flowers, personal beaded Huichol art frames doubling as escort cards/guest favors, live Cuban music from Los Hombres del Negro, fireworks exploding in the sky at the finale of the Hora dance, and a sweet finish with a wheelbarrow candy cart, red velvet cake from Pie in the Sky, and a sundae bar as a special treat for the Father of the Bride, from Naef Cuisine.
