Katie + Evan Wedding Feb 2014 - 36
Katie & Evan kicked off our 2014 wedding year in style, with a color-packed celebration at Sayulita's Brisa Mar Palapa. They also happen to be 1 of 4 couples we're working with this year who have either known each other or been sweethearts since their high school years. Too adorable, right?
Katie & Evan's Fiesta was full of festive D-I-Y details from Katie, her mom Chris, and her Aunts. They hand-crafted all of the table centerpieces from homemade paper flowers displayed in cute tin cans with custom labels that Chris designed. Mom also created all the escort cards and table numbers, and was on-site bright and early with her crew, helping to make sure everything was set up just so.
Katie & Evan requested a tequila tasting bar, so we ordered custom barrels bearing their names and wedding date to hold Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo varieties of delicious
- shipped in direct from Arenal (just outside of Tequila, Jalisco) - for guests to sample at the reception. After the party, they emptied out the barrels at the next morning's brunch and packed them home as unique momentos from the big day.
Katie & Evan had a big guest list - 100+ - and wanted to ensure everyone had a place to stash their stuff during dinner & dancing so we created "cubbies" for the guests out of re-furbished market boxes - you can see in the photo these were definitely utilized to their fullest. Mireya of
Flor Mimo provided Katie's lovely bouquet, Kori Walker of Kolor by Kori styled the Bride's timeless and classically beautiful look, DJ Paladub had everyone shakin' it on the dance floor, Don Pedro's exceptional Catering & Bar team kept everyone happily quenched and fed, and of course Joann Arruda captured everything flawlessly. I especially love the adorable shots of the couple around Sayulita - so much color and fun!
